Marilou has been with HSBC for eighteen years and has worked in four business units including Mortgage Services, Auto Credit, Retail Services, and now Insurance. Marilou joined HSBC Insurance in February 2006 as Chief Operating Officer. She oversees 215 FTE domestically and 165 FTE offshore (India). The primary Insurance operation functions include, inbound phone sales, customer service, claims processing, underwriting, licensing, fulfillment, six sigma, and business quality control.
Marilou began her career at HSBC in 1990 as a Senior Accountant for Mortgage Services-Asset Management. She was then promoted to several financial management roles both within Mortgage Services and the Auto Finance Division. In 1997, Marilou moved to the HSBC Private Label Credit Card Division- Retail Services and was Director of Merchant Funding and then promoted to Group Director of Operations in 2002. In 2004, Marilou was appointed Regional Director of Sales- Retail Services. Her duties included managing the overall credit program for merchants including promotional offers, technology, profitability, product offerings, and daily program support. Marilou is currently the COO for HSBC North America Insurance.
Marilou attended Illinois State University and received a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration. Prior to joining Household, Marilou was a senior auditor at KPMG Peat Marwick.
