Barbara Spector Yeninas

Barbara Spector Yeninas, senior partner and CEO of BSY Associates, Inc., an international marketing communications agency, was recently awarded by NJ Biz magazine as New Jersey’s Best 50 Women in Business for 2007. In addition, Crain’s BtoB magazine for business-to-business marketing and advertising named BSY Associates Inc. of Holmdel as one of the top 100 agencies in the United States for 2007. BSY Associates is one of the approximately 30,000 advertising agencies in the U.S.  You could say last year was an especially honorable year for BSYA, but the last 34 years have been just as notable.

Yeninas established BSY Associates Inc. in 1974 following a career as an award-winning journalist and, ultimately, maritime editor of the former Newark (NJ) Evening News.  She started in the male dominated industry of international trade and transportation, with only a five percent survival rate as a female entrepreneur.  Thirty-four years later, BSYA is still thriving.

BSYA grew from an entrepreneurial venture to one of the most respected agencies covering this field throughout the world with a team of talented professionals. Today the company provides a complete range of integrated marketing communications that involve public relations, branding, event management, international crisis response, design and successful marketing advice to businesses of every size.

Yeninas earned her master’s degree in mass communications and bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in journalism, both from New York University.  In 2007, Yeninas was recipient of the Transportation Marketing Communications Association Award of Merit for consistent work quality and effectiveness, which marks four consecutive years now.  Additionally, the Essex County Girl Scouts of America named her N.J. Businesswoman of the Year in 2000.

Barbara’s pride is in the loyalty and longevity of client relationships and the world-of-mouth reputation that has fueled the agency's growth and stability for a third of a century.  This agency’s client list includes global shipping companies; major world ports; emerging and established information technology providers; leading retail services companies; local and regional businesses; and national trade associations.

Yeninas continues to lead the company’s strategic direction and oversee all public relations programs, while actively participating in organizations that support New Jersey’s community.
