Student Development Transcript

The Student Development Transcript records awards and scholarships, community service, leadership activities, work experience and student government and organizations. By recording activities outside of the classroom, this transcript evolves to complement the academic transcript.

The Office of Student Involvement strives to enhance the quality of life on campus and to promote the educational, personal, and leadership development of students. The Student Development Transcript reflects the belief in and value of out-of-classroom experiences that students have. Students are encouraged to develop a Student Development Transcript in preparation for entering the job market or pursuing post graduate higher education.

The purpose of the Student Development Transcript at Rutgers University is to:

  • Facilitate valuable educational, personal, and leadership skills in the areas of event planning, communication, fiscal management, problem solving, and diversity. A key focus is to determine the personal and professional balance.
  • Provide a means to assess student skills and abilities gained in and out of the classroom while at Rutgers.
  • Make available an official document representing the student’s co-curricular involvement and leadership experiences while at Rutgers.
  • Present copies of co-curricular information to facilitate in the preparation of resumes, job interviews, or higher education pursuits.
  • Validate the benefits associated with campus community involvement.
