Rutgers Makerspace

Rutgers Mobile Application Development

  • Our purpose is to bring people together who are passionate about developing mobile applications. Whether it’s for iPhone, Android, Blackberry or other mobile platforms, RuMAD will give Rutgers students a place to expand their knowledge and understanding about new innovations in the technical world.

    Both experienced and inexperienced developers will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and knowledge while gaining the specific tools necessary to compete in the programming industry. RuMAD will meet in an exciting social atmosphere to work on personal projects, pitch new ideas, and create proposals as a club.
    Meetings will be held on a bi-weekly basis.
    The main programming languages include, but are not limited to: Java, Objective C and Action Script.
    Prior knowledge of programming is not necessary to apply but highly recommended.

Rutgers Undergraduate Geography Society

  • To provide all Rutgers Undergraduate students with a greater knowledge and understanding of geography; to focus attention upon the importance of geography so that they may better understand the world and their role in it; and to provide students with a greater knowledge and appreciation of the world about them by means of informative activities and presentations. Such activities include participation and development of conferences, promoting awareness of global geographic issues, and exploring the local 'geography' by going on hiking, skiing, and camping trips as organization. Officers of the club should work toward establishing and maintaining links between the undergraduate and graduate students, as well as with the Geography faculty.

Scarlet Capital Management

  • To provide a platform for students to discuss trade ideas and views on the financial markets, and to enrich and supplement their knowledge of trading and investing in public securities through the hosting of regular discussion/educational sessions as well as the offering of opportunities to participate on different mock trading desks. The focus of the organization is limited to trading and investment strategies, roles, and products in the public securities markets.

Scribblers (The)

  • To build a community of writers and artists on campus where students can:
    •Discuss their own personal work and projects and receive feedback
    •Connect with other groups of people on campus to collaborate on projects. For example, we plan to connect them to programmers and web designers so that they can see how their talents can be used in the making of a website.
    •Connect writers and artists to each other, so that they can work together on illustrated novels, graphic novels, and other projects. We hope this will expose them to all kinds of opportunities in the world.
    •Use their creativity in communities outside Rutgers.

Society for Human Resources Management Undergraduate Student Chapter (
