The Multicultural Greek Council at Rutgers University was established in the fall of 2007. MGC represents the numerous culturally diverse social fraternities and sororities at RU, and acts as the supervising governing body for them. Currently, MGC governs 13 different fraternities and sororities.
The purpose of the MGC shall be the pursuit of the following objectives:
Elections will be held at the end of the fall 07 semester.
Membership in the MGC shall be determined via the OFSA Recognition Policy.
The Council is lead by Executive Board Officers who serve one-year terms. Officers are elected by delegates from the Council's member organizations. Delegates are selected by their organizations and also serve one-year terms.
Men and women interested in joining an MGC organization must meet the following minimum eligibility requirements for membership:
Note: Every MGC organization has higher academic requirements. Specific eligibility information is shared with prospective members at fraternity/sorority Information Sessions, which are held throughout the academic year.
Attendance at MGC meetings is required for all member organizations. In addition to the regularly scheduled meetings, the President may call Special meetings at the request of a member organization or as necessary.
