Greek Councils

Greek Councils

Rutgers University Greeks are governed by student run programming councils. These councils, along with the staff in OFSA, provide leadership to the RU Greek Community. Each council provides programming in the areas of scholarship, service and leadership development. Council officers are elected to provide appropriate resources and support to their member chapters.


Interfraternity Council

The governing body of 21 fraternities at Rutgers University. IFC is a legislative body consisting of an executive board, programming cabinet and chapter delegates. The IFC coordinates joint activities, programming and provides support to member chapters.

Panhellenic Association

The governing body of 9 sororities (6 NPC chapters) at Rutgers University. Panhellenic is a legislative body consisting of an executive board, programming cabinet and chapter delegates. The Panhellenic coordinates joint activities, programming and provides support to member chapters. Click Here For More Information

Multicultural Greek Council (MGC)

The governing body for the culturally-based fraternities and sororities at Rutgers University. The MGC coordinates educational and service programming for the member chapters.

National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC)

The governing body of 8 historically African-American fraternities & sororities at Rutgers University. The NPHC coordinates educational and service programming for the member chapters. Click Here For More Information

Special Interest Chapters (SI)

Special Interest chapters are not governed by a council. Instead, these chapters focus upon their unique areas of interest such as business, music or service.
